The Siberian and the Central Air.

The Siberian Husky Coat
Nordic breeds have a double coat, a soft undercoat and an outer coat known as guard hairs. The double coat insulates them from heat and cold, which is why they should never be shaved, even in the hottest climates. Twice a year the new guard coat coming in and pushes the undercoat out resulting in profuse shedding or “blowing coat”.

September is the time when "twice a year" rolls around. Brees looks like a Sheep. She has clumps of fur falling off of her doggy body. The wire brush hardly takes off the balls of fur. Looks apparently do not matter to her. She struts her stuff like there isn't patches of fur missing and her double coat is turning to a single layer one patch at a time. The 400 dollar vacuum cleaner is getting its work-out. I should probably learn how to knit, make a wool coat out of all her fur-balls and send coats to the freezing. I thought I would get one last laugh in before the snowflakes start showing up. We would brush Brees out on the deck, a couple of times a day. We would throw the access fur down below the deck onto the grass with high hopes the wind would just take it away. There was a good solid week where the temps were in the 80s or above and that is obviously going to confuse mother nature and Bree's natural de-furring. The whole family was sweating it out, glad that we didn't have Brees fur coat. The house has central air. it breaks down. The last heat wave of the summer/fall and the whole house is steam. The air conditioning pro comes to take a look... the central air vent (excuse the fact I'm not a air expert.) was clogged with Siberian Husky fur!!!!! note to self: do not throw balls of fur below the deck where the air vent is. It will suck it up and do some damages :) 80 dollars later.

P.S. I don't think a furmenator would do the trick on this double coat. The last time Brees went to the groomer she blew out 3 full size garbage bags of fur!!!! only "twice a year"
Happy Fall!
