HAPPY BIRTHDAY BREES!

Brees is two years old tomorrow September 21st. She was one of 3 girls and 6 boy pups.  Here are some interesting facts on Height, Weight, Health Issues and Life expectancy: (I suppose Brees would be under "Bitches" ha. shes not a Bitch...but she is one technically in dog terms.) hahaha.

Height, Weight
Height:   Dogs 21-23½ inches (53-60cm.) Bitches 20-22 inches (51-56cm.)
Weight:  Dogs 45-60 pounds (20½-27kg.) Bitches 35-50 pounds (16-22½kg.)

Health Problems
Prone to hip dysplasia, ectopy (displacement of the urethra), eye issues such as juvenile cataracts, PRA (primarily in male dogs), corneal dystrophy and crystalline corneal opacities. Breeders can get hip screenings from the OFA and eye screenings yearly from a canine opthamologist (AVCO) and register the exam through CERF and SHOR). Also prone to a skin issue known as zinc responsive dermatitis, which improves by giving a zinc supplements.

Life Expectancy
About 12-15 years.

Brees is a very healthy pup, she is about 41 pounds and I think we may be in the terrible twos!!! or else i suppose she would be a teenager. :) I was going out to visit one of my best friends Tracie in Colorado Springs when i got a phone call at the airport saying "pups are born, you're first on our waiting list!" I had forgotten all about it because the last time I tried to get one was in the spring before. I came home from Colorado and went to Kerrick, MN on a little farm and picked one out from her mama Midnight. I hope we get many more years of her!! HAPPY 2ND BIRTHDAY BABY BREES!!!
